Oh, and Mr. Davidson and Mr. Savage, I am very disappointed in you! If you were truly up on things, you would understand his reasoning, not just be quoting it. Your article here amounts to nothing but speculation, but in effect damages Mr. Obama’s support from the LGBT community. The community has already been up in arms 6 months after he took office because many were being so impatient. If he took those actions which you suggest, then any gain would shortly be reversed when Republicans take back the White House. Articles like this just stir up further dissension. Certainly not what Democrats need right now right before an election.

Belinda, I will tell you why. Because if it comes straight from him, guaranteed when the next Republican gets into office that it will be one of the first things reversed. If it comes from the legislature, it will be damn near impossible to reverse. He’s a constitutional lawyer don’t forget. Read up and understand. Stop being impatient.

I am insulted that the president would even have the audacity to record this in light of his recent actions against the GLBT community. I feel that his participation in this project has tainted it.

I am astounded that the justice dept took the FANTASTIC ruling against DADT to the 9th Circuit Court who soundly sent us back to the dark ages. WHY IS HE DOING THIS RIGHT BEFORE THE ELECTION? What is this guy thinking? Why leave it up to a lot of horrid old men in the House and Senate to decide what rights gay people shall have. They have proven over and over they are bought and sold by corporate interests. At the rate this is going, the district courts will disagree and the whole thing will go up to the Supreme Court and then we are really screwed. This is the same court that decided Citizen’s United. Do you really think we will get justice there?
