WHAT: This NAACP public forum will examine the complex layers of homophobia within the Black community and new ideas on the important role of Black straight allies, civil rights organizations, families, media and colleges to eradicate stigma, violence and discrimination of Black gay people.

Would have been nice if there were representatives from the T and B ends of the community at that table
Ashley Love was there and made that point very clearly. I will have multiple reports on the convention coming up. I think my friends Renee and Mary caught Ashley on tape delivering closing remarks – and I interviewed Julian Bond who said one of the big take-away lessons for him was to have a trans person at the table next time. More later.
