Teacher Testifies in Gay Student Murder Trial
Fox News Channel 11 asks: Did political correctness from school officials play a part in the death of a 15-year old gay student?
According to one of his teachers who testified in court, yes.
FOX 11′s Christina Gonzalez talks to teacher Shirley Brown.
Story Script:
Brandon McInerney is being tried as an adult for the 2008 shooting death of Larry King at E.O. Green School in Oxnard.
McInerney is also charged with a hate crime because he allegedly had adopted white supremacist views and King professed to be gay.
Shirley Brown, 7th Grade Teacher
I said to my principal, “You know, what you are waiting for here is for them to take him to the back of the PE shed and beat him to death.

Describe for me the make up and clothing as you were doing in court.
Shirley Brown, 7th Grade Teacher
I will. It started with the hair, and it went from a boys haircut to a litlle flip with a little mouse. Then it moved to a little red bow up in the corner. Then it moved to eye makeup… heavy heavy eye makeup, eyeliner… then it moved to pancake hollywood makeup. Then it moved to bright red lipstick. On top of all the rest of this, this student was saying please
someone love me someone pay attention to me.

I went to my principal. An something be done? What are you planning to do about this? I was informed that our district had adviced our principal that there really wasn’t anything that could be done because Larry was entitled to his personal rights and that was that!
Christina Gonzalez
If this had been a girl, a female student, you would have been able to say something?
Shirley Brown, 7th Grade Teacher
More than likely. I would have written her up, sent her up to the office. Perhaps they would have sent her home perhaps they would have asked mom or dad to come and bring something to wash her face..

If Larry had been asked to sit down and talk and see about a way this issue could be resolved where this child could feel he had his individuality respected and yet also follow the guidelines. There was a place in the middle, but wearing a bright green dress, high heels and a full face of makeup i do not believe is the middle ground.
Christina Gonzalez
You think if they had found a middle ground, he’d be alive today?
Shirley Brown, 7th Grade Teacher
More than likely, but no one will know the answer to that question.
The green dress she refers to was a prom dress another teacher gave Larry.
Keep in mind, Larry’s parents sued in civil court, alleging the school allowing king to wear feminine clothing and makeup was a factor leading to his death.
The attorney general said the school couldn’t have legally stopped King because state law prevents gender discrimination.

More “blame the victim” crap. It’s appalling. The assumption is that if Larry had just acted “appropriately” he wouldn’t have bullied and murdered. If course, the ones that get to define “appropriate” just happen to be heterosexual christianists.
Guess what. If Brandon had been acting appropriately then he wouldn’t have brought a gun to school and shot a defenseless classmate in the back of the head. No one is to blame for Brandon’s actions except Brandon and his parents (who should be on trial alongside him).
