Harry Burkhart, the 24-year-old German national charged in the terrifying weekend of arson attacks in West Hollywood, Hollywood and San Fernando Valley over the New Year’s holiday weekend pleaded not guilty to 100 counts of arson on Tuesday. Investigators now believe they can link Burkhart to more than 50 fires. The DA’s office upped the count from 37 to now 100 counts of arson. Burkhart was arrested Jan. 2 in Hollywood. KNBC News reports: “A fraud case involving his mother led to Burkhart’s arrest, investigators said. Dorothee Burkhart faces 19 counts of fraud, including accusations that she failed to pay a Frankfurt clinic for breast-augmentation surgery and bilked renters out of security deposits.”
