The White House LGBT Conference on HIV/AIDS will be held in Atlanta, Georgia on Thursday, April 19, and will include remarks by Dr. Grant Colfax, the new Director of the Office of National AIDS Policy, and CDC Director Dr. Kevin Fenton. The conference is being held in conjunction with the Morehouse School of Medicine. The conference runs from 8:45 AM to 12:45 PM (Eastern) – 5:45-9:45am Pacific, followed by afternoon workshops.
The plenary session in the morning MAY be webcast live on wh.gov/live. Presumably, the White House will blog about the conference and may post the video. Other nationally recognized experts speaking at the conference include Dr. David Satcher of Morehouse School of Medicine and Dr. David Malebranche of Emory School of Medicine.
The White House says the LGBT Conference on HIV/AIDS “is part of a series of conferences that will be held around the country specifically focused on LGBT Americans. These White House LGBT Conferences will provide grassroots leaders, community organizers, advocates, students, and interested citizens an opportunity to hear directly from the administration officials on our efforts on behalf of LGBT Americans.”
