Outfest Opening Night Interviews with John Waters and Ricki Lake-Video

Director John Waters received Outfest’s Achievement Award at the film festival’s opening night on Thursday, July 12. He was introduced by his former “Hairspray” star, Ricki Lake. Referring to Outfest being 30 years old, Waters says, “I’ve been doing this for 50 years! I feel like William Burroughs tonight – Beyond the Grave.” He also said he likes to be “a filth elder for others.” (Read the Frontiers interview here.)
