The Wrap: ‘Gangster Squad’ Trailer Pulled for Scene with Shooting Through Movie Screen

Terrible coincidence. The Wrap reports:

Warner Bros. confirms to TheWrap that the trailer for the Ryan Gosling-Sean Penn film “Gangster Squad,” which depicts trenchcoated gunmen shooting through a movie screen, has been pulled following the tragic shooting at a “Dark Knight Rises” screening in Aurora, Colorado [71 shot, 12 dead].

A spokeswoman for Warner Bros. could not say whether the trailer will be re-cut to eliminate the offending footage.

Though the trailer had run prior to screenings of “The Dark Knight Rises,” it did not play before the Aurora screening.
