A 'Wildness' family portrait
IndieWire calls “Wildness” “one of the 10 Hot Docs to Watch.” Director Wu Tsang has fashioned a unique, impressionistic documentary about an unassuming nightclub called the Silver Platter near downtown Los Angeles that became a refuge for Latino trans people and the avant guard. The Silver Platter is a character in the film with her own voice as the narrator via Mariana Marroquin.. Filmmakers Renee Sotile and Mary Jo Godges of Traipsing Thru Films interviewed Tsang and Marroquin. WILDNESS screens on Saturday, July 21, 7:30pm, DGA 1.
