I pretty much agree with NBC’s Chuck Todd in his assessment of opening night of the Republican National Convention Tuesday, though I confessed I squirmed at corporate wife Ann Romney’s attempt to mimic Oprah Winfrey in her “I Love Women” shout out. (A friend thought she was more like Evita.) I also wish some of these pundits would point out the GOP’s ode to federalism and state’s rights by putting up one pompous governor after another – with MSNBC convention coverage co-host Ed Schultz coming too close to a stroke pointing out that numerous fact-checkers had already given four Pinocchios to Ohio Gov. John Kasich, Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker and others. Paul Ryan is up tonight.
